King Lear Act 4 Scenes 6 and 7

In Act 4 scenes 6 and 7, it seems like the two children who were shunned by their parents the most are the ones who had to save their parents in the end.  First, Edgar has to save his dad from jumping off a cliff, or in this case convincing his dad that the flat ground was really the Cliffs of Dover.   Poor Edgar always gets the short straw in these situations.  This act of kindness makes me like Edgar’s character more than I already did.  In the second half of this scene when King Lear was going on and on with his crazy talk I found it a little boring.  The rambling about nothing was good for a while, but at some point a line needs to be drawn.
In scene 7 Cordelia seems like such a kind daughter and overall caring person.  Even though her father had her banned because she told the truth and did not lie like her sisters, she was the only daughter that would help her father in his time of need.  Also Kent, who King Lear had been rude to, is showing mercy to the King.  It appears that the two people King Lear had been the meanest towards are the only ones who will show him compassion when he needs it the most.
I wonder if King Lear will realize that Kent never left the kingdom and was just disguised the entire time.  In scene 7 line 63-65 Lear says, “Methinks I should know you and this man, /Yet I am doubtful; for I am mainly ignorant.”  If Lear does figure this out, I am curious to see what his reaction will be.
